Identify the handheld meter
The G.M.E. meter is the green handheld instrument with an antenna, a round screen and MONSTER DETECTOR printed on its casing. G.M.E. is also called Game Master Energy in item lists.
It is a shop gadget, separate from the whisper meter seen while spectating after death.
Use the device
- Select the inventory slot holding the detector.
- Hold the left mouse button when the HUD shows LMB (hold) Use.
- Use G / Drop only when you want to put it down.
The slot number depends on where you placed the item; it is not permanently bound to slot 2.
Do not read more into the screen than it shows
A glowing point or change in brightness is not, by itself, a reliable distance measurement or proof that a room is clear. Do not use the meter as permission to run through a hazard you can already see or hear.
Its exact target and the meaning of each screen mark are not clear enough to turn into a dependable radar legend. Keep the house’s event message, sounds and visible threats in your decisions.
Charge and shopping
The gadget has limited charge. Check its current shop description and display before relying on it for a long trip. Do not budget around a fixed old price or a guaranteed two-minute use time.
