Invokyr Saves and Checkpoints: Quitting Without Losing a Run

At a glance

Invokyr saves after a completed board. A normal quit keeps that checkpoint; Game Over resets the run unless an Old Clock saves it. Resume with the original host and the correct save.

Steam Early Access · Windows

When the game saves

A completed board creates a save point. Quitting normally lets you return to the last completed board; it does not create a save of your exact position halfway through the next one.

After the first checkpoint, the pause menu shows how long ago the game last saved. Check this before leaving.

How to pause a run

  1. Finish the board and wait for the save notification.
  2. Open the pause menu and check the time since the last save.
  3. Choose QUIT GAME when you want to leave normally. Do not choose GIVE UP by mistake.
  4. Next time, let the original host select the matching save.

The save-selection screen also offers New Save. Choose your existing run rather than starting over unintentionally.

The host owns the save

Joining a friend’s game does not copy their run to your own hosted session. If your friend hosted the successful run, that friend needs to host again and load it.

Death, the Master Board and the Old Clock

Game Over deletes the run’s progress. Beating the Master Board creates a safe checkpoint. An Old Clock provides an extra chance to return to the shop after a wipe, but it is not unlimited protection.

Clock prices rise with rounds and repeated purchases. Check the current shop price instead of planning around a fixed old price.

What the save timer does not guarantee

The timer points to a completed-board save. Do not assume that a later shop purchase or every action since then has been written to the checkpoint.

If progress is missing despite a save notification, first check the host and selected save. Save-loss bugs can still occur; keep the run details and logs if the same problem happens again.
